So I hope you all had a lovely Valentines day. We stayed in with curry, video games and 'The Wire' box set (yes we are VERY behind - only on season 3!). It was awesome!
I got back on track with some material crafting at the weekend after finding these lovely materials.
I loved the patchworkiness(!?!) of them.
I originally bought them with a little girl I know in mind. I was going to make her a summery dress, or something similar, but I’ve changed my mind on that and am going to look for something a bit more floral instead.
Instead I dug out some other materials I had, cut up strips and did
some form of random patchworking.

Colours are all over the place on my photos this week. Dont quite know whats going on with that!
Now I know there’s quite an art to patchwork (particularly when quilting) as fantastically displayed by Karyn on her
Make Something blog (I love her use of colour) and Blair on
Wisecraft, but that demands a bit too much planning ahead for me at this point so I tend to go a bit more free-form. I LOVE picking up random strips of material, throwing them together and seeing what they turn out to be as a whole.
So I’ve ended up with these...
I’m waiting for inspiration to strike as to what to do with them next. Last time I patchworked I made
these pan/pot holders but I want to do something different this time.
I think I might turn the horizontal strip patchwork into a couple of pillows, but I have NO idea for the other one. If you have any suggestions I’d love to hear them!
