The right light

In my creative space this week I'm having light issues...

In our old flat there was a perfect point on the fireplace mantle that caught the afternoon light 'just right'. It made for  pictures of the stuff I wanted to blog about.

But in our new house I just cant seem to find a similar spot. This is how a photo of my most recent bag turned out.

Not the worst, but just no where near the best either! Something just seems a bit... off! Then I find I either have to engineer some kind of 'set' or massively doctor the final picture (which drives me mad). Its really frustrating!

Do you have a good spot to take your photos?

Paper Garlands and Gifting Bags

As I’ve mentioned before, my sister is getting married next year. Woo Hoo!

I’m still looking around for ideas I can send her way. As I love, love, love all things bunting related, I was really inspired by Frog Goose and Bears post on paper garlands, so I did a bit more digging around and found these garlands.

(I cant remember where the top image came from - eek! If you know let me know.
Bottom image from paper doll romance blog)

Aren’t they pretty! My sister loves music, so I was thinking that instead of using books we could use sheet music instead.

In other news, I decided to use the sewing paper idea to create some gifting bags. I don’t know about you but I love wrapping presents using brown paper and then adding a variety of bits and pieces to jazz it up a bit like this and this.

The thing is, I spend ages wrapping presents and needed a quick alternative. So… I created a few pouches.

(apologies for the colour balance on these pictures - its completely off - awful!)

They are perfect for small items and I can seal them up using my new fabric tape!

Ta da! Wrapping made easy!

Lazy Sundays

I LOOOOVE Sundays.Chilled walks through the park, pottering through the markets, meeting  the husband for lunch and afternoons full of crafting.

I’ve not been doing so much of the crafting this Sunday.  I’ve been de-cluttering and wrapping instead.  I tend to enjoy wrapping almost as much as crafting – just as much call for prettiness and ribbon as ever.

My slightly less cluttered mantle piece

My sister and soon to be brother in law's present all sewn up

A long overdue Christmas present for my friend that I've been meaning to send on for AGES!!!

Pressy for my dad. I wrapped all of my Christmas presents like that this year. Gutted I didn’t get a picture of them. They looked fab!

I hope you are having a lovely Sunday whatever you are doing!
