Christmas and new crowns

Its been a funny Christmas this year. Quieter than normal (just me and the boys) Owen has been I'll (chest and teeth) and the weather has been horrendous. Nevertheless its been lovely to be quietly tucked away at home.

Without particularly meaning to, I ended up being quite busy making bits and pieces for people. Some stockings, a couple of crowns, a few little travel crayon packs and one of my current favourite makes... these lovely little garland style headbands. I see many more of these in my future!

At the moment I have a new crown on the table for one of Owens best friends. The brief was: bright and colourful. Favourite colours are red and purple. Likes butterflies and flowers. What do you reckon?

I started off doing a red crown as it was the main requested colour, but found that red is a very tricky colour to have as a main colour for a crown! I felt the urge to keep the colours simple with it which didn't seem to fit with the request,  so i opted for this GORGEOUS 'thistle' purple instead. All the details cut freehand. DH thinks it too busy but I love it!
