My Second Bag

This time I followed someones instructions.

It worked out much better :-) The finished product...

I found these cutesy little tags the other day and thought they would be perfect for the stuff I'm making right now.

The button detail is a. because its pretty and b. to be used to tie the bag up nice and small.

Ta Da!

As it was a pressy for my sister I wrapped it up very nicely (I'm trying to get away from commercial things and love jazzed up brown paper wrapping). She loved it!

My first bag

My first bag design, although I probably should have started with a simpler pattern... or even a pattern! Ha!

picture palette

For someone who doesnt post a lot, three in one night like this is like internet overload!

Anyway, I've just been browsing and on a www.curbly.com/ (great site for random DIY helpfulness and design ideas) posted a link to this: http://www.degraeve.com/color-palette/.

Basically you upload a picture and it creates a palette of colours for you - how cool and incredibly useful is that!

supper

So this week is 'we're eating fresh' week, so tonight I pulled a 'quick' Nigel Slater out of the bag. It still took me about an hour to sort out in total but was well worth it. We had loin of pork, totally seasonal lemon roasted new potatoes and savoy cabbage. All the juices kind of caramelised in the bottom of the tin which was delicious and totally intentional - honest! Its the first time I've ever done a joint too and I even managed to pull off a good crackling - Hurrah!

erm...

Erm... right...

...so I've never posted a blog before (apart from one I wrote in the Philippines about my time living over there (very hot and very oddly american pretty much sums it up) but that never saw the light of day so it doesnt count) so it feels a bit strange writing something that will go out into the ether... ... dont quite know what to say apart from TA DA - I have now entered the blogging world. Congrats to me! :-)
